What You’ll Do

As our Night Baker, you’ll:

• Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and other base components according to established recipes and production plans.
• Use mixers, ovens, proofers, sheeters, and other bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality.
• Produce fresh breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and specialty items for the next day’s service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary baking environment following all food safety standards.
• Record production batches and communicate any issues or shortages to the day shift team.

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for baking with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and multitask in a fast-paced, early-morning environment.
• Previous bakery or kitchen experience preferred (but willingness to learn counts!).
• Food safety knowledge or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Team player with a positive attitude willing to work overnight hours — including some weekends and holidays. 

15-30 hours per week, must be available weekends, must be available some holidays (Mardi Gras, Easter etc.).

Hours will be between 5 AM and 8 PM (Example shift: 5 AM to 1 PM, or 12 PM to 8 PM).

For students currently attending culinary or baking school who are looking for future internship opportunities. An 8 hour shift, starting at 7am. Any day of the week, although Saturdays are preferred to offer the most complete experience.

You'll be assisting various bakers in their daily tasks and getting practical knowledge in how a retail bakery operates. Lunch is included, along with all the coffee you can drink. For more information call the bakery at 847-328-9434 and ask for Jory Tuesday through Saturday.
